Church Planting

Why do we need Local Churches?

The New Testament repeatedly emphasizes the importance of local assemblies. In fact, it was the pattern of Paul’s ministry to establish local congregations in the cities where he preached the gospel. Hebrews 10:24-25 commands every believer to be a part of such a local body and reveals why this is necessary.

“And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25).

It is only in the local body to which one is committed that there can be the level of intimacy that is required for carefully stimulating fellow-believers “to love and good deeds.” And it is only in this setting that we can encourage one another.

The New Testament also teaches that every believer is to be under the protection and nurture of the leadership of the local church. These godly men can shepherd the believer by encouraging, admonishing, and teaching. Hebrews 13:7 and 17 help us to understand that God has graciously granted accountability to us through godly leadership.

Most of the MCM Churches are pastored by MCM Bible school graduates and are located in various regions in Africa nearer to largely populated towns, cities or rural communities. Most of the pastors assigned to these churches are graduates of MCM Bible School and have access to MCM’s library facilities / materials for study guide and reference.

Planting of churches

MCM has helped in the planting and establishment of over twenty churches in Africa. Eight of these churches are now directly under Missions for Christ Ministries covering. The message of faith we present to the nations is that God is good all the time and that we can trust His holy written Word. The Bible says, ‘…The devil comes to kill, to steal and to destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly….’ (John 10:10). It does not matter what is broken in your life, God can put it together again for you if you can only believe. James 4:7 says; “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. From the story of creation, we see that God has a pattern in which He follows in creating things. He calls things into existence that are not. Great pioneers of faith like Abraham simply yielded and followed a step at a time until they came to a complete fulfillment of God’s plan for their lives. Holy Spirit has been sent to teach, guide, comfort, counsel and reveal to us all things that He hears our Father say and we can depend on Him. We encourage you to hold on to the Word of the Lord today.. for surely it will come to pass. Never give up! Believe God! He will bring it to pass whatever He has spoken to you!
